The Cow Pie
In memory of John Brady
a good friend and great flyer
by Doug Skjerseth
This is
the story of John's new Mega Manta maiden flight that hit the only cow pie on a
130' X 1,000'=130,000 square foot runway, not to mention the 900 acre flying field.
Now that's
not all-----the cow pie only took up 36 square inches which means that there
were 18,720,965
square inches without a cow pile just on the runway. The only cow pie on the enormous runway
and the Mega Manta hit and topped it like topping a pine tree. No contest!

Meet John Brady our new member with his new Mega Manta. Notice the
big spacious run way.

As you can clearly see the cow pile is happy-happy, tall, and oozing
with luster & vitality and
minding its own business, you know-it's own business, not only that! it's the
only one for miles. But then without warning from
out of the sky
came the Mega Manta .......POW!!! Just like that! Clipped, chopped, even sliced!

The forensic evidence shows the missing top of the cow pile, a
clean but perfect topping,
of a juicy cow pile. John is pointing to what was left of a perfect
contented cow pile.....

A close up shows a flattened cow pile only half of its once proud self. It was lonely
as you can see no other pile within a mile ........!!!!!

Like Mt. St. Helens the top is missing..........but where did it gooooooo!

I can tell you John is a great guy, a new member, and proud
owner of a cow pile......eating
Mega Manta and just look at John's shi.........eating grin on his face. What a
sport!
I confess I was flying the maiden voyage of John's wing, yes it was I the guy who was supposed to know better. Well it was like this..........we were out in the field and the runway was way over yonder, you see. I could see the runway but not all of it so I landed with a long ground effect kind of greased landing, smooth, and easy.....to easy and to smooth for my taste. Sorry John !
We had some TP and used a role to clean it up...........I'll do better next time......I hope. John forgave me,,
didn't you John?
At a contest I would have gotten a spot landing!
